Dire Straits ‧ Money for Nothing - 1985 Money for nothin' and chicks for free...
Dire Straits were a British rock band that formed in Deptford, London, in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), his younger brother David Knopfler (rhythm guitar), John Illsley (bass guitar), Pick Withers (drums-left since 1982) and others including Alan Clark (keyboards), Guy Fletcher (synthesizers), Terry Williams (drums).
"Money for Nothing" is a single taken from their 1985 studio album 「Brothers in Arms」. The song's lyrics, considered controversial at the time of the song's release, are written from the point of view of a lower-class worker watching music videos and commenting on what he sees.
Mark Knopfle and his 80s Les Paul Standard guitar(Same as VCD cover), which used on the recording of “Brothers In Arms” and “Money for Nothing” in 1985.
